A Brazilian immigrant and an Italian scooter are behind one of South Africa’s first mobile coffee shops. Marcio Mordoh started Full of Beans seven years ago, creating a coffee shop on wheels. But these weren’t just any wheels. Marco had a passion for three-wheeler Piaggio TriVespa scooters, which were first conceptualized in 1948. He ended up purchasing all the Tri-Vespa scooters available in South Africa at the time, converting them to expand his mobile food business. He’s now the owner of M.O.V.E ( Mobile Operated Vending Equipment), a company that helps young entrepreneurs get into the business of mobile food shops. Some of Marcio’s other retro-chic mobile food shops include a frozen yoghurt mobile store as well as a KFC Krushers Mobile.
