Megan and her husband, Wayne, share an appreciation for the mid-1900′s and Art Deco furniture, within a contemporary setting. Taking her cue from the stylish simplicity of Scandinavian interiors, Megan has incorporated this philosophy into her home, adding her own South African twist.

Megan’s top tips for a stylish home:

• Keep things simple but personal.
• Choose well-crafted items and invest in unique long-term pieces that you really love and can pass on as heirlooms. Combine these with less expensive trendy items.
• Rotate your smaller décor items by packing them away or relocating them to different rooms to keep the space fresh. You don’t have to have everything you own on show!
• Megan takes Coco Chanel’s wise words to heart: ‘Before you leave the house, take a look in the mirror and take one thing off.’ This rationale can be applied to an interior as well; once you’ve styled a room, take an objective look around and remove anything that distracts the eye.
