    Revel in your Roses

    In October, roses reign

    October 7, 2014

The beauty of October’s roses is due to the fact that they’ve been storing nutrients since they were pruned back in July. Keep them looking glorious by following these tips:

    • Water rose bushes twice a week (most rose bushes need at least 10 litres of water per week)
    • Spray bushes with fungicide and insecticide every two weeks to prevent black spot, mildew and aphid infestations.
    • Feed bushes once a month with 3:1:5 fertiliser.
    • When picking roses for your vase, be sure you leave enough leaves on the bush. Leaves are the food factories of the rose bush.
