Try a stand-up paddleboard fitness class to get the toned tummy you’re looking for. Stand-up paddleboarding is like surfing, except you use a longer, more stable board and a two-metre paddle. It’s the brainchild of American surf shop owner Izzy Tihanyi. ‘Paddling is great cardio workout and balancing on the board works your core,’ she says. ‘Add yoga and strength moves, and you have a killer workout.’
No Classes Near You? Try This:
- In choppy water, sit on a kickerboard and try to stay upright. Keep most of your chest underwater and you’ll have to engage your core to stay seated on the float.
- In calm water, like a pool or lake, lie flat on a float that’s as long as your body and do ab work and leg lifts.
- On land, do some yoga poses while balancing on two Bosu balls, placed a couple of feet apart. Start in Mountain pose on one Bosu ball. Step onto the other ball with one leg and move into Warrior 1 and Warrior 2.
