Your Wardrobe Needs: A Mori Makeover

If you enjoy wearing layers of soft, natural fabrics, the mori girl (forest girl) style is for you

    October 30, 2014

explains the laid-back mori style, ’Mori girl style is Japanese street fashion that looks woodsy and natural. A mori girl dresses in earthy colours, loose oversized dresses and layers with high necklines. She enjoys wearing vintage and handmade pieces that make her look like she lives in a forest, hence the name – “mori” means “forest” in Japanese.’

A mori girl accessorizes her look with lace trims, flat shoes and simple leather shoulder bags to create a soft, country side look. She wears her hair in loose curls or an uncomplicated bun and her make-up is always in earthy tones with a clean skin.

    Earthy Colours
Layer a variety of natural coloured tones over each other. Get the look (above): White mesh top (R299) and grey trousers (R1 299) both from Habits; Apron dress, Big Blue (R590); Dark brown sandals, Mr. Price (R89.99).
