    Recycle Project: Milk Bottle Lampshade

Taryn McIntosh from Cape Town made this pendant lampshade by recycling plastic milk bottles

    October 16, 2014

    You will need

    • metal frame
    • white spray paint
    • 40 plastic milk bottles
    • nylon thread
    • scissors
    • craft knife
    • needle
    • white glass beads
    • pendant light fitting

    To make
    1
Spray paint the metal frame white.

2 Cut up milk bottles into leaf shapes and make a hole in each shape using a needle.

3 String the plastic shapes onto nylon thread and add beads for detail, if you prefer.

4 Wrap the nylon thread with the shapes around the frame and knot the thread to the frame.

5 Attach a pendant light fitting.
