Three men from Norway set out to break the world record for the most countries visited in 24 hours. Huffington Post reports that before Gunnar Garfors, Tay-young Pak and Øystein Djupvik took on the challenge, the record stood at 17. Using rental cars and commercial flights, they managed to visit 19 countries, in just one day!
They did it the best way possible: Jetting around Europe. Starting with Greece at 12 am on September 22, they travelled to Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Switzerland – and ended in Liechtenstein, with time to spare.
It turns out they had planned for 20, and had the time to pull it off, but less than favourable weather cut their journey one country short. Regardless, they are thrilled to be the new, world-record holders and plan to celebrate for 24 hours too!
