• 1 long french loaf, cut into four chunks
• butter or wholegrain mustard
• 4 slices ham or pastrami
• 4 tomatoes, sliced
• 300ml cheese, grated
• 50ml milk
• 5ml mustard powder
1 Slice each of the four chunks of bread lengthways and spread with butter or wholegrain mustard. Arrange the ham and tomatoes on the bread and season with salt and pepper.
2 Preheat the oven. Mix the cheese, milk and mustard powder together and set aside for about 5 minutes. Divide the mixture among the four open sandwiches and place them under the hot grill until the cheese is golden brown. Serve hot, with a cup of instant soup.
