Baking Time 1 hour
1 Preheat the oven. Beat the butter, sugar, and orange and lemon rind until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one by one and beat until combined.
2 Sift the cake flour, cornflour and baking powder together and add to the mixture. Beat until mixed through.
3 Spoon the mixture into a greased baking dish or cake tin (30 x 20cm) and arrange the plums, cut side up, on top. Bake for an hour, or until skewer comes out clean. (The plums will drop to the bottom of the cake.)
4 Sprinkle over castor sugar and serve warm topped with thick cream.
