Preparation Time 15 minutes

Oven Temperature 170°C
1 Sieve flour, spices and bicarb together. Rub in the butter.
2 Stir in the sugar and syrup and add a little water if the mixture is too dry.
3 Roll out between two sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Use gingerbread men cutters to cut out shapes. Place the biscuits onto a greased and lined baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Cool completely before decorating.
4 Pipe icing onto the men and stick sweets onto the icing. Set aside until firm.
