    Red Bull Doodle Art

Cape Town welcomes 27 of the best doodlers from around the world in a Red Bull Doodle Art Global Gallery Competition

    October 13, 2014

According to Wikipedia: ‘A doodle is an unfocused or unconscious drawing made while a person’s attention is otherwise occupied…. or may just be abstract shapes.’

From the 23 to 26 October, 27 international winners will have their prized doodles displayed in Cape Town’s Company Gardens. Our very own doodler from the Vaal University of Technology, Kingsley Palime, a part time graphic design student will be representing South Africa.

One winner will be selected on the 27 October at 10am by a panel of judges. The prize is an exclusive Red Bull design internship – and the winner will also design a graphic for a T-shirt to be sold at the Red Bull World online shop, in 2015.

World Design Capital 2014 CEO, Alayne Reesberg says: “We’re aware that all eyes in the design community have been on Cape Town in 2014 and have had an exciting year-long programme of activities, events, exhibitions and itineraries that bring to life how design is being used for social transformation in the city and beyond.”

How do your doodles compare to the likes of Bill Gates (who left a doodle on Tony Blair’s desk), footballer Steven Gerrard, or even Barak Obama’s famous sketches?

    Event Type Exhibition
    Date 24-26 October 2014
Venue Company Gardens (19 Queen Victoria Street, City Centre, Cape Town, Western Cape, 8001)
    Entry Free
