    100% Design South Africa

    28 July 2014

Not to be missed! A special collaboration, at 100% Design South Africa, between leading fabric house Home Fabrics and three top South African interior design companies in a feature called 100% Lodge.

The show runs 6 - 10 August, Hall 1 Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

100% Lodge is a unique South African addition to the international portfolio of 100% Design and celebrates the versatility of style and practicality of the Home Fabric Ranges.

Home Fabrics not only will be showcasing fire retardant, contract and sun sensitive ranges but will be doing it with panache. Don’t expect shades of Khaki – think of the glamorous fabric houses of Lacroix, Designer’s Guild and Chivasso to set the scene. Then contemporary sofas and chairs will be upholstered in durable contract collections juxtaposed with, rich buttery leather and vinyl. UV Pro, a collection of fabrics treated with Africa’s harsh elements in mind, will tolerate the brightest rays to the most vicious downpours, which when combined with an array of hospitality fabrics will add style as well as sustain high traffic.

Along with Home Fabrics, compiling 100% Lodge will be, Head Interiors, M Design and Karen Robert Interiors. Each design house brings its own stamp on luxurious bespoke hospitality interiors. Karen Robert from Durban will design a lobby, Head Interiors from Joburg, will do a large lounge, and M Interiors, Cape Town, will deck out the bedroom. The overall effect will be slick and contemporary with each designer adding their own flair to produce a lodge far from the usual style. Earthy browns, charcoals and burnished gold’s will make up part of the overall look but be sure to expect pops of optic white’s, which will add a more crisp edge when mixed with neutrals turning a classic lodge environment into an edgy, modern retreat.

Home Fabrics is a leading convertor of furnishing fabrics in South Africa and is renowned for its commitment to innovation, quality and service. Their versatile ranges of fabrics for residential, hospitality and corporate interior design also includes exclusive international brands, like Designers Guild, Chivasso, Hodsoll Mc Kenzie, Nina Campbell and  William Yeoward to name a few.

With an impressive list of clients from Anglo American Corporation to Letamo Game Lodge, Head Interiors  was founded in 1980 by Michael Harrison and Sharon Firher and is a renowned interior design consultancy with over 30 year’s experience, providing a full spectrum of services in interior architecture and design for corporate, hospitality, residential and retail clients.

Marius van der Merwe started M Interiors in 1995 and is an inspiring man with an immense gift for interior design and architecture. His company offers turnkey interior designs service and has an international portfolio of clients from Greece and Florida through to Nigeria and South Africa.

An established doyenne of North-coast style Karen Robert specialises in up-market residential and office design and is known for her adventurous interior architecture and uber-glamorous decoration.
