    When In Franschhoek

Take in all the sights on offer, at the little French corner

    31 January 2015

From enjoying the nature and culture at La Motte, take a guided tour through the town and shop at the La Motte farm shop for fresh vegetables, beautiful seasonal flowers, gifts and delicious treats.

MONDAY Join a guided hike on the mountain behind the wine estate to learn more about the fynbos, the mountains and the surroundings. You can also arrange your own hike from Monday to Saturday.

TUESDAY Visit the vineyards, fynbos plantings, vegetable and herb garden, and the indigenous garden, a guide will explain how La Motte prioritises sustainability.

WEDNESDAY Find out more about the history and architecture of the farm and the Franschhoek Valley on a historic walk that starts at the La Motte Museum and includes the cellar, manor house, jonkershuis and old water mill (the oldest operating mill in the valley); you’ll get to taste the bread baked with the stone-ground flour from this mill.

THURSDAY Join a guided walk and view all the female sculptures on the estate.

FRIDAY Experience a food and wine pairing while experts explain how to combine La Motte wines with delicious snacks at home.
