    Spring swing

    Spring is finally here and we can once again enjoy our gardens with our families. Why not follow these easy steps and build a children’s garden swing?

    Shopping list

    • treated pine poles
    • two 3m treated pine poles (uprights)
    • one 2.4m treated pine pole (swing crossbar)
    • six 1.8m treated pine poles (four struts, soccer net/tent crossbar and upright)

    Other

    • two 1m lengths of 10mm thread rod
    • sixteen 10mm nuts and washers
    • six 50kg bags of ready-mix concrete (two per long upright, remaining one for struts)
    • two 10mm threaded eyelets
    • 10m of 10mm soft rope
    • two Crosby clamps (for fastening the rope just below the eyelets)
    • one 650 x 250 x 32mm pine plank (for the seat)
    • plastic netting
    • saddle nails
