From lace and mesh to plastic, transparent accessories, the transparent trend is going to be huge. While it can seem a bit daring and even risky, in most cases the trend has been understated, sticking to sheer accents and insets.

Sheer accents seems to be the precursor of more sheer to come. Spring/Summer 2014 collections are showcasing sheer shirts (and if you’re feeling bold you can wear these with a bright bra underneath.) However, this summer the trend sticks to transparent insets on skirts and dresses and totally transparent shoes and bags.

Keep your look simple, so if you’re wearing a dress with a transparent detail, then keep your shoes and bag classic. Combining too many trends in one outfit is overwhelming and pairing transparent shoes and a clutch with your sheer dress will be too much skin.

However if flashing some skin is too edgy for you, then opt for shoes with a sheer accent or have some fun with a transparent clutch – it’ll make you think twice about what you put in your bag.
