    Get Radiant Summer Skin

Follow these five simple steps and there’ll be no excuse for dull-looking skin

    1 December 2014

We help you get the kind of skin everybody’s after.

    Be Militant About Sun Care
If you’ve heard it once you’ve heard it a thousand times – but that’s because it’s true. Sun protection is your best bet for keeping your skin younger for longer. Every day, rain or shine, liberally apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen that contains both UVA and UVB protection (check the label). From the age of 40, schedule a skin exam with your dermatologist at least once a year. If skin cancer runs in your family, you might want to start earlier than that. In addition, it’s essential to check your own skin for changes as often as possible.
We recommend for face Filorga UV-Defence SPF 50 (R600) and for body Piz Buin Wet Skin Transparent Spray 30 SPF (R200).

    Let There Be Light
An effective way to achieve dewy skin and highlight your features is to use make-up with illuminating properties. Tiny light-reflecting particles found in the products make the complexion flawless, luminous, and above all, radiant. Clarins’ Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch (R375) is a wonder primer that can be used on its own or before make-up application. It’s the ideal base for illuminating make-up, such as liquid- and powder-based bronzers, smoothing the skin’s surface while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and enlarged pores. It contains acacia micro pearls, which lodge themselves in the wrinkles and plump up the skin, enhancing radiance.

    Sergeant Skincare
Developing a daily skincare regimen is essential for radiantly flawless skin. Cleanse: Sh’zen Ultra Calming Cleansing Cream (R249) gently cleanses and replenishes moisture levels. It also reduces redness and acts as an anti-inflammatory as it contains chamomile, rosewood and sandalwood oils. Apply with fingertips, massage, then rinse off gently. Exfoliate: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Scrub (R79.95) has an invigorating citrusy scent and won’t leave the skin feeling tight and dry. It eliminates dead skin cells and excess shine, resulting in healthy-looking, radiant skin. Moisturise: Pond’s Flawless Radiance Visible Even Tone Day Cream (R89.99) may be lightweight but works deeply within the skin, reducing melanin production and lightening dark spots, all the while improving radiance.

    Be Brave With Bronzer
Applying bronzer is the easiest, most effective way to get that glow, especially for darker skin tones. Pick a colour that’s one or two shades darker than your own skin tone. Apply powdered bronzer with a fluffy bronzer make-up brush and sweep over cheekbones. To create extra dimension, swipe the bronzer along the outer perimeter of your face, along the hairline and down the bridge of your nose. Don’t neglect your limbs – rub a R1 coin-sized amount of shimmering dry oil on damp legs and arms.
We recommend for face and cleavage Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact (R640) and for legs and body Nuxe Shimmering Dry Oil For Face, Body and Hair (R295).

    Body Care Basics
The more effort you put into buffing, moisturising and toning, the sooner your body will be smooth and silky. To moisturise: To ensure optimal skin hydration, combine a body moisturiser and body oil. Eucerin Complete Repair Lotion with 5% Urea (R139.99) easily absorbs into dry skin, reduces moisture loss and is fragrance- and colour-free. Nivea Q10 Plus Firming Body Oil (R99.99) not only intensively hydrates, it also firms and tones and lightens stretch marks.
