Giant Pincushion

You will need

vintage metal bowl
fabric remnant of your choice
matching coloured sewing thread
polyester toy stuffing
two buttons

To make
NOTE All seam allowances are 1cm.

1 Cut two fabric circles with a diameter 4cm larger than the inner diameter of the bowl. Pin the two circles right sides together and sew around the outer edge, leaving an opening of 5cm. Turn the cover through to the right side and fill with stuffing. Sew up the opening by hand with slip stitch.

2 Take a 60cm length of thread and fold it in four before threading it through a needle. Sew the buttons onto the centre of the cushion, one on each side, and use them to gather in the centre of the pincushion. Place the pincushion in the bowl.
