Flower template
To make
Enlarge the flower template to two different sizes: one slightly bigger than the other. Cut them out.
Trace the two flower shapes onto the cardboard and cut them out – these are your stencils for tracing the shapes onto your pretty paper.
Trace the shapes onto the back of the paper and cut them out.
Next, spray the wire framework with a few layers of orange (or the colour of your choice). Spray paint until the colour is even.
Cut about five pieces of knitting yarn – all the same length – and tie them to the framework, all equally spaced from each other. Tie the loose ends at the top together and hang the mobile somewhere where you can work on it further.
Cut a few more pieces of yarn – they can be fairly long, as you can always cut them shorter later – and tie them to the framework, equally spaced from each other.
Using the glue stick, paste two flowers of the same size back to back on top of each other with the knitting yarn in between. Alternate the sizes of the flowers on the knitting yarn, as well as on the mobile itself. As you work, stand back every now and then to check where you need to place more flowers. Fasten brightly coloured flower buttons in between to add a decorative finishing touch.
Once you are satisfied with the final look of the mobile, you can cut off the ends of the yarn to the required length.
