    Calling All Guests

Clay place cards show your visitors where to sit and make beautiful decorations for your table

    19 November 2014

You can even give these lovely name decorations to your guests to take-home to remind them of this celebration.

    You Will Need

    • white air-dry clay
    • flower-shaped cookie cutter
    • letter stamps (available from scrapbooking suppliers)
    • ribbon
    • rolling pin
    • wooden skewer

    To Make
1 Break off enough clay to make two place cards at a time. Knead the clay in your hands. Be sure first to moisten your hands to make the clay easier to work with. Roll out the clay to a thickness of about 3mm.

2 Use the cookie cutter to press out flower shapes. Roll the leftover pieces of clay together and store in an airtight container or a plastic bag.

3 Use the letter stamps to spell out the names of each of your guests, pressing lightly onto the clay. Make a small hole in the top of each place card with a wooden skewer.

4 Leave to dry for about 24 hours, then thread a length of ribbon through the little hole in each clay card to complete.
