1 Wine tastings on horseback
There is so much wine in Franschhoek and the surrounding area, that if you have visit there regularly, the valley’s farms may seem a little boring. For something a little different, head to Paradise Stables to take a long relaxed horseback ride through the scenic area while still making time to enjoy a good red.
2 Feast on salmon
The Salmon Bar serves salmon and trout from five different countries, prepared in 17 different ways. All of it is traceable, and all of it is prepared right in the Franschhoek valley.
3 Look up
Franschhoek is part of the Cape Winelands Biosphere Reserve, a unique natural environment known for its beautiful wildlife. Take a tour or a hike to explore it all.
4 Buy some art
Head to the Franschhoek Vineyard Gallery to view and buy amazing local art, displayed in a fully renovated Victorian home, or catch one of the exhibitions held at the Holden Manz Wine Estate.
5 Cocoa joys
Try the fantastic hand-crafted treats made locally by Huguenots Fine Chocolates on Franschhoek’s main street – you can even watch them make it.
