Paul Marshman, otherwise known as the Travelling Boomer, is a retired reporter with a blog we just love, with great info on travel: places to visit in famous cities, how to see the world on a budget, and booking tips for cruises.
Our favourite thing about his blog has to be his wonderful pictures. Holiday pictures are awesome for remembering your experience, but they are even better for showing off your photography skills! Read on for his tips on taking great holiday snaps:
Capture interaction. A picture with people in it is fine, but a picture with people interacting with something or with each other is better
Something here, something there. If you can, position your photo so that there is something in the background that complements your subject.
All about the angles. Use perspective and geometry to add interest to what might otherwise be a boring photo. Take it from an interesting vantage point, or focus on a reflection with the actual object in the background.
Pretty in a Frame. Hallways, doors and arches make for excellent frames. Other ways to frame a photo are to use buildings, statues or sculptures.
