How’s this for weird and wonderful?
To celebrate the route of its first transatlantic flight, Dutch airline KLM installed interactive machines in Amsterdam and New York to allow people to give virtual high fives across the two cities. The Live High Five machines were ATM-sized live streams – you could see and hear your high five partner in the other city, in real time! KLM then rewarded people who gave the best transatlantic high fives (according to timing and precision) with free tickets to their high-five partner’s city.
We would like to (not-so-subtly) hint to SAA to try something similar – who wouldn’t love a free trip with the holidays coming up? Now excuse us while we go practice our high fives.
