When we saw the plans for standing room only flights on Ryanair, we got worried. Plane seats are bad enough, with the never ending battle for the armrest and those inconsiderate perpetual seat recliners who somehow always end up sitting in front of you. So when we saw the plans for the Embraer E2 cabin, we breathed a collective sigh of relief and even smiled a little. This design doesn’t just maintain the current in-flight comfort levels – but it actually improves them.
It’s all about more personal space, for you and your luggage. Think footrests and bigger overhead bins, 12-inch tablets in place of the old entertainment system, internet enabled cabins, and glass tiled bathrooms with acoustic curtains – all in economy class. We’ll have to wait until sometime in 2018 to experience this, but for now, feast your eyes on the future of travel in the teaser video.
