The first thing travellers should do upon reaching this destination Walk around the beautiful town square and investigate all the quaint shops and amazing art galleries.

The best place to shop The town square – there are shops all around it and you can visit them all in an afternoon.

The best way to get around Walking is the best way to discover a small town.

If you want to feel like a local you should… Stop for a pint (or two) at The Clarens Brewery.

Watch out for… Electric Thunderstorms – they happen late afternoons, most days, so have a brolly handy. They are breathtakingly beautiful though.

Don’t leave without… A case of Clarens Brewery beers or fresh apple ciders – simply delicious.

Insider tips The best coffee in the whole town is from Highland’s Coffee.
Pack a picnic and head into the Golden Gate National Park for the most amazing landscape views and cloud formations.
