The Milton Cares Initiative was introduced to make a difference in communities in need, by educating the people.
Milton was first manufactured in 1916 where it was used in the First World War as a disinfectant. It was then used in surgical procedures in hospitals and as a food preserve. Later it developed the Milton Method, which is used for sterilizing baby equipment (a great advantage for areas where hot water is not readily available).
The aim of the Milton Cares Initiative is to reduce infectious diseases in babies, such as gastroenteritis and diarrhoea, which is the leading cause of death among children younger than five years, according to Statistics South Africa. They offer a tried and tested sterilization solution that is scientifically proven to kill all known germs including thrush.
Milton Cares Initiative will provide relief in the form of a mobile educational sterilization drive. By educating and understanding the effectiveness of Milton, lives can be saved. Milton’s goal is to distribute 1 000 baby-bottle Combi sterilization packs that can be used with cold water or in a microwave.
You too can help by nominating one of the chosen organisations in need. Go to www.milton .co.za, click on the Milton Cares initiative link and submit your request. Milton will dispatch an educator and Milton Combi packs to the area in need. Once the request has been fulfilled, images and a short write up will be sent to the nominee. Allowing them to see the difference they have made.
Create awareness on social media by using #Miltoncares - and contribute to making a difference.
