One of South Africa’s best exports will be performing in Cape Town this weekend. Pretty Yende, an opera singer whose amazing voice is making SA famous everywhere, will be at the Baxter Theatre this Friday, to sing and to party!
The show is called Celebrations, and it’s filled with familiar opera favourites and some lighter classics. Along with the talented students of the South African College of Music, and directed and accompanied by Professor Kamal Khan, Pretty will be singing her heart out for a good cause. The concert celebrates the growth of local operatic talent (especially Pretty’s wonderful successes to date) – but it is also a fundraiser for Diemersfontein’s Excellence out of Africa Trust, which supports talented graduates who are starting their careers in the arts.
Ticket prices include some sampling of Diemersfontein and Thokozani wines, and the R500 price includes a party after the concert, with snacks, a meet and greet with the talented artists, and a few surprises too. There aren’t that many party tickets to go around, so make sure you get yours today!
