Curves Food Drive for 2014 starts today! Curves has been able to donate over 34 million kilograms, in the last 16 years, to a variety of charities in the areas around Curves clubs such as SPCA, Greensleeves Place of Safety for Children, and Huis Jabes, which is a safe house for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. “Curves has always promoted a community ethos across its clubs. What better way to give back than to feed those who go hungry in our own communities and surrounding neighbourhoods while simultaneously promoting women’s health, fitness and wellbeing,” said Clive Robinson, Managing Director of Curves Africa, of the initiative.
Members, new members and non-members can all get involved by donating non-perishable food to their Curves club of choice. You can also donate R200 instead of food cans, which will be used by Curves to purchase non-perishable food items. As an added plus, new members that donate won’t need to pay the usual joining fee if they join Curves during the food drive period. So visit their website to find the nearest Curves club near you.
The Curves Food Drive will run from 5-16 May.
