Durban is soaring to new heights with the sounds of two of South Africa’s most highly admired acts – for one day only!
Sharing the stage for the first time, Johnny Clegg (award-winning singer and songwriter) and Ladysmith Black Mambazo (multi-award winners, including Grammys) will be performing at the Old Mutual’s Music at the Lake.
Although born in Britain, Jonny Clegg is proudly South African, and his long music career and blend of Western pop and African Zulu rhythms have made him a global phenomenon.
The all-male choir group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, have been around for almost six decades. The group still enthrals the world with their beautiful harmonies – and continue their quest to teach people about the traditional Zulu culture and musical heritage.
So pack your picnic baskets and cooler boxes and spend a Sunday afternoon in the botanic gardens with Africa’s soulful sounds.
