Veronica Wilkens from Ronnie Wilkens Interiors believes that colour holds a bathroom together.

The interior designer says, ‘I love the charcoal that was specially mixed for me as it carries the colour scheme of the black and white wallpaper in the bedroom through to the bathroom. Grey is a wonderful colour as it goes well with anything – especially white sanitary ware.’

Veronica searched for quite a while to find an old cast iron tub for her Victorian apartment in Green Point, Cape Town. ‘I had the bath cladded with wooden panelling and added a marble top for that luxurious, old world feel,’ she explains.

Veronica says it’s important to have seating in a bathroom, so she added a black velvet ottoman. ‘I also enjoy the overall spaciousness of the room, which makes it so much more than just a bathroom.’
