Often one’s office space is where we spend the most time – be it at home, or at the company you work for. So, making your space ultra-efficient and organised should be a non-negotiable. Here are five steps to make it that much easier for a hassle-free workspace:
1 Get Rid Of Those Piles
Yes we know that you know exactly what is in each pile of paper on your desk but your life will be so much easier if you eliminate those paper piles. Get a paper drawer and file folder to start filing!
2 It’s All About Accessibility
If you use something often, for example your highlighters or punch then make sure that it is in close proximity so that it is easy to complete your tasks. Don’t hide away the items that you use the most and the random gold glitter pen (which might be your favourite) right in front of you.
3 Store Away Extra Supplies
There is no point in keeping five glues on your desk alongside three exam pads. Store away your extra supplies so that your desk is as clear as possible.
4 Keep Things Separate
This one applies especially if you are working from home – try not mix up your business and home work, your kids homework or your outstanding bills. Let your desk be clear and work on one thing at a time.
5 Use What’s Out There
There are so many useful organisation tools out there, use them. Hang up a pin board for all those notes that you usually leave lying around and if need be, install an extra shelf. At work, order your files and label them clearly.
