If you like an abundance of flowers fluttering in the breeze, butterfly bush is just the plant you need for a white border

Its delicate flowers are borne on thin stems, which give your garden a sense of constant movement. Butterfly bush is a fast, easy growing plant that seeds itself readily and can be divided in autumn or spring.

Plant it at the back of a border in fertile soil and cut back after flowering. Although butterfly bush is drought-tolerant, it will thrive if given water during very dry spells – so water it well during the summer months in the winter rainfall areas to ensure that you’re rewarded with a mass of beautiful flowers.
