Water your garden well three times a week in summer; do so before 11.30am and after 4.30pm to prevent too much water from evaporating or getting blown away by the wind.
Plant hydrangeas in deep shade and prune back hard in winter.
Large trees should be pruned periodically to maintain an attractive shape and encourage good growth – but find an expert who knows what they’re doing.
Structure is important, but I believe there must be balance between structure and a bit of ‘wild’ garden as well!
