Cutting kilojoules could be as simple as cutting your food into pieces, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
Researchers found that people who were served 20 chocolate halves ate about the same number of pieces as those given 20 whole ones – but consumed roughly 250 fewer kilojoules.
The takeaway: when it comes to snacks, size does matter. So munch on M&M’s or Smarties (avoid the super-size versions) instead of trying to go easy on a full slab of chocolate and you may feel satisfied with less.
