Accidents can happen at any time – especially, with young kids around the house. But, you can come to the rescue by remembering these tips in one of these situations:
BEE STING
If you are not allergic to insect bites, scrape the sting out of the skin with the back of your fingernail or a credit card. Do not use tweezers – you may cause more poison to enter the wound. Relieve pain by applying calamine lotion or a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water. Get medical help immediately if you have difficulty breathing or there is any swelling of the face and tongue.
NOSEBLEED
Tilting your head back encourages the blood to run down the back of the throat, which could cause vomiting. Pinch the tip of your nose. It is more effective than pinching the bridge.
BURN
Place the burned area under cold running water for 10 minutes. Then wrap it in a clean, non-fluffy, sterile cloth to reduce the risk of infection.
