Our beloved fashion icon Coco Chanel once said, ‘Fashion passes, style remains.’ With trends changing all the time, pieces go out of style just as quickly as they arrived on the fashion scene.
It’s unfortunate but people pass judgment on appearances first. So, in the right circumstances, give yourself a one up by following these guidelines:
The Workplace
Consider your working environment. Most places of work require business casual attire. They would usually have a list of options on how you should present yourself.
Interviews
Use initiative to find out the company dress code as well as the style. This way you’ll show up feeling confident in your appearance, which will be reflected in your interview.
With Friends
If they truly were your friends they wouldn’t be judging you. But don’t let manners fly out the door. Make a little effort especially if you’ve been invited out.
Events
Know where you’re going and if a dress code has been requested. It’s always important to primp just a little. Meaning brush your hair, be minty fresh and all round tidy.
Age Appropriateness
The older we become the better understanding we have of the impression we’re giving off. Older doesn’t have to mean boring, frumpy and dull. Your clothing should be more tailored and covered up. With teens and youngsters they have an anything goes philosophy and sometimes manage to pull it off looking great.
