The do's and don'ts of finding the right foundation
16 February 2015
If you’re searching for a new foundation, these are guidelines to remember:
DO
Choose your shade in natural daylight.
Start with a very light veil of foundation. You can always build up more coverage on top.
Change shades between winter and summer. Your skin will usually be paler in the colder months.
Start with a good moisturiser to help foundation apply evenly.
DON’T
Test the shade on your hand or wrist. Your jawline is where the shade should be tested. Apply three different shades next to each other – the one that ‘disappears’ is the right shade for you.
Use foundation all over your face if you need just a little to even out specific areas, like your nose and chin.
