    Make a dream catcher

    28 May 2014

    You will need
    • cotton DK for doily
    • 4mm crochet hook
    • embroidery hoop (size depends on size of doily)
    • lace fabric remnants
    • beads
    • craft glue
    • clothes pegs

    To make
    1
Wind lace strips around the embroidery hoop and glue the ends with craft glue, using clothes pegs to keep the lace in place while the glue dries. Tie a piece of lace into a loop around the hoop for hanging up.

2 Cut long lengths of cotton DK and thread through each scallop of your doily (see the pattern below).

3 Place the doily in the centre of the hoop and tie the lengths of cotton around the hoop – pull the doily taut (to make it easier, place pegs around the doily then pull it taut). Repeat until all the lengths of cotton are tied to the hoop and the doily is taut.

4 Trim the lengths of cotton on the upper half of the hoop. Tie, braid and thread the remaining lace, cotton DK, beads, and so on, to the lengths of cotton on the bottom half of the hoop for decoration.
