You Will Need
To Make
1 Use the cookie cutters to cut out butterflies of different sizes from the rolled-out dough.
2 Sprinkle a little cornflour over the butterflies and gently smooth the surface of each butterfly with your finger.
3 Use a kebab stick to make a small hole between the wings at the top of each butterfly and then leave them in a warm, dry place to set. As the butterflies dry, their wings will curl over slightly to give them a more natural appearance.
4 As soon as the butterflies are completely dry, you can thread them onto lengths of nylon. Vary the sizes on each thread or hang them from small to large, or the other way around. Knot each butterfly securely in place and hang the threads up.
Good Idea
You can attach the threads to a curtain rail or press them into the ceiling, using thumb tacks. Or attach a few lengths to a thin dowel rod. Screw cup hooks into the ceiling and hang up the dowel rod.
